Born and bred in Christchurch, New Zealand. Will took up a position in the screen acting school at Sydney's FOX Studios then returned to NZ in 2003 to begin his acting career in the The Insiders Guide to Happiness (2004) for which he won best actor at the 2005 NZ Screen Directors Guild Awards. Two years later he reprised his role of James in the award-winning prequel The Insiders Guide to Love (2005) .
