Alexander John DiPersia was born on March 6, 1982 in New York City, New York. Born into a diverse background Alexander's mother Ronna (Kaufman) worked as an artist and his father John DiPersia worked as a lawyer. His grandfather, Robert Kaufman, was a successful real estate developer. He was raised in Connecticut and New York City. Alexander graduated from the Connecticut-based college-preparatory school of Hopkins in 2000. He went on to attend Boston College as a Philosophy major. At age 25, he made his film debut in 2007 in the Will Smith drama I Am Legend (2007). He secured work across the latter 2000s including the film short The Grind (2008), Melrose Place (2009), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000), CSI: Miami (2002), 90210 (2008) and Single Ladies (2011). However, it is his lead role in the New Line horror film Lights Out (2016), with Teresa Palmer and Maria Bello. Alexander also holds stage credits and one music video appearance.
